Client: Pepperdine University Library
Role: Associate Creative Director, Art Director
Phases: Concept, Design, Prototyping
What does the library of the future look like? For this project I lead the team to conceptualize, design, and prototype an interactive platform that asks students thought provoking questions and uses machine learning to help them find answers and facilitate "aha moments".
At the 40' media wall students can browse university resources including books, events, lectures, and films that are grouped in curations based on machine learning algorithms. Each curation is paired with a provocative question that grabs students attention and sets the stage for the library as a place of inquiry and discovery. Resources are presented with key insights relating to the topic and can also be browsed by area of study.
Students can use the mobile app to save resources for future reference and can use their phones to help them locate items in the stacks. The app also reccomends resources based on the students location and classes they are enrolled in.
